The Sagem Morpho Laboratory Acquisition Workstation (LAW)

LAW caputuring an image from a soda can.
Live Scan Booking

The LAW is a specialized electronic and laser image acquisition tool for latent print operators. The LAW makes it possible to capture latents directly from the evidence exhibits themselves. This avoids the traditional process of taking a crime scene photograph that must first be developed as a negative and then as a positive before finally being scanned into the system.

The LAW provides image enhancement tools and minutia editing capabilities. The LAW hi-res digital camera is also well suited to taking pictures of chemically developed latents and alternate light sources. That camera is equipped with software that allows for pictures to be taken from flat or directly from 3D objects.
